Water-park, Schmater-park

Who needs a water park...

...when you have a hose, a back yard, and a slide?

  1. This looks like the perfect afternoon! I love that shot of Mia with the water on her face. Your girls are fearless in the face of sprinklers! (Penelope would run and hide!) And, how many times can I mention that I'm jealous of your backyard? It's WONDERFUL!

  3. Emily #1 :) -- Not quite fearless. Last summer, neither of them like sprinklers. They refused them, and Lauren didn't even like the little wading pool. This summer, Mia's loving the sprinkler (er, hose)! But LJ? Not so much. As long as I was spraying her feet, she liked it. But as soon as it accidentally hit her face, she wasn't very pleased. Can you see the look on her face in the second picture from the bottom? She's yelling at me to not spray her in the face :) She did eventually run through the farthest reaches of the hose, though. And I did continue to try spraying her all over, just to see if she'd ever warm up to it. No wonder she didn't like it -- mom was always ambushing her :)

Emily #2 :) -- They did love it! We completely lost track of time, wasted a ton of water, and had a very good time :) At least our grass got drenched in the process...it was already starting to get a little crispy in patches!

And you're right, who needs a fancy water park when you have that set up in your back yard?

  5. Oh yes, the progeny used to love the hose in the summer time.

  6. And this is another reason why I'm a summer-lover. Adorable pictures! And great idea to put the sprinkler by the swingset! I'll have to give that a try this week!

  7. A hose at the bottom of the slide. What a fantastic idea.
