Life With A Two-Year-Old

When you live with a two-year-old, life is about doing what you want, when you want. Life is about playing endless games, and doing your level best to convince your parents to play endless games, as well.

Life with a two-year-old is about expecting the unexpected. It's about being ready with washcloths and smiles.

Life is never dull. Life is about exploring and pushing boundaries and decorating the world around you. And when that fails, life is about decorating yourself.

Life is about learning that when boundaries are pushed too far, consequences happen that sometimes make life difficult. Therefore, life is frequently quite loud.

Life with a two-year-old is sometimes a disaster. Sometimes it's no fun at all.

But then again, life with a two-year-old is so full of constant motion, that a disastrous day can be salvaged by the sweetest giggle. Life with a two-year-old is about not getting overwhelmed by the moment, because before you know it, the moment will have changed.

Life with a two-year-old is amazing.

  1. I agree, with all of it :). Eli is fond of coloring on himself too!

  2. A.MEN. Seriously. My second turned one last December...and already I've experienced my first (ever) crayon decorated wall...he broke my favorite mixing bow (*sob*) and he's got the yummiest little lips that absolutely WON'T let me stay mad at him. *sigh*

Thanks for stopping by Bubba Bubbles!! If you do make bread, try this recipe! http://chowreview.blogspot.com/2008/10/french-bread.html

You can totally make it in a big bowl, no mixer required. Knead it just until it's uniform in texture (about two minutes?) and then follow the directions from there. :-)

    Happy Monday!

  3. This sounds a lot like life with a 22-month-old! Earlier today we were miserable then we went outside, turned on the hose, drenched ourselves and suddenly the day was fun. It's amazing how that works, isn't it?

I love L's body art. She's so adorable. And that picture where she's crying? So sweet! I just want to scoop her up and give her kisses...although, if I did she'd probably pull my hair. (At least, that's what Penelope would do.) Enjoy these crazy days! I have it on good authority that we're going to miss them!

  6. Oh my goodness, look at that little face throwing a fit, lol! Sometimes I can't help but laugh when my 1 1/2 year old Brigham starts to throw himself down and scream! And the coloring... The other day when I was on an important call, the kids were coloring in the other room. I found out shortly after getting off the phone that Brigham doesn't like to color on paper, only the stone hearth, wall, tv screen, and window sill. (Followed today by my sweatshirt while I was wearing it... with marker.)

Anyways, I just wanted to apologize for being absent from commenting some too. Bad blog friend... Bad. :(
