Perfectly Poetical Tuesday (Haiku #2)

I love Perfectly Poetical Tuesdays! Not because I'm a fantastic poet -- you've been around long enough to know better than that. I just love trying my hand at it. Stretching my brain a little bit. I love the thought that even my life writes a poem.

And so does yours! Join in today with your own haiku -- leave it in the comments or link up over at Stephanie's. You can do it!

The Toddler

Getting her to sleep
Was a simpler task before
She learned how to sing

--------------------

(Honestly, at this very moment [Monday night], I'm listening to her sing and holler [in variations of Away In A Manger and Twinkle, Twinkle] 45 minutes after being laid in her cozy bed. Fun with a capital Crazy. In any case, my life wrote a poem...it's true!)

  1. Great haiku! and "Fun with a capital Crazy" - I'm already working on how to appropriate that phrase. Sounds like a great post title, doesn't it? And would apply to most any day...

  2. That was touching. :)

It's really fun when they sing themselves to sleep when they're sharing a room with their sister and then sister joins in. So fun. I'm not quite sure how they ever really sleep, but somehow they do.

  3. Ha ha, I love it! Mine prefer to destroy their bedroom in the darkness rather than sing... I think I'll take "Away in a Manger" over 200 train track pieces any day ;)

  4. Hahaha! So so true. At least you can hear it muted softly from the bedroom and get a slight break from deafening singing in your lap.

  5. I love your life in poem version!! Mine also prefer search and destroy over a concert. I would gladly take the concert, as well!

  7. Isn't it adorable, though? I love it when my kids sing to themselves.

  10. This is fabulous! I love the poems your life writes! :)

Does she keep the rest of the family up with her singing?

Thanks again for joining in! And, yes, I know what you mean about needing boundaries. Sometimes I work better within structure, too.

Hmm...And how did that make you FEEL?
